Robert T. Henry Iii

Robert T. Henry III, 76, of Syracuse passed away on February 15, 2023. He was born to the late Robert T. II and Ruby Henry on November 6, 1946 in Chattanooga, TN.

Robert was a decorated war Veteran in the United States Army. He had two bronze stars and a Purple Heart for saving others in his platoon. While in the Army he fought in the Golden Gloves, and enjoyed lifting weights. Following his tour in Vietnam he met his wife, Kris, at Golden, Gate park in San Francisco. She was handing out flowers and he came over to talk with her. Then on April 18, 1969 they were married in Murphy, NC. After leaving the service, he went on to work on tug boats in the Mississippi and oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. He had a great sense of humor, and always liked sharing stories about his time in the service. He was a member of the VFW and was active in other veteran's services. He was also an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was predeceased by his Parents, Robert T. II and Ruby Henry; Brothers, Ricky and Jimmy.

Robert is survived by his Wife of 53 years, Kristina Henry; Children, Korena (Stan) Murtaugh; Grandchildren, Jessica and Dillon Murtaugh; Great-Grandchildren, Jaelynn, Prince and Canelo.

Calling hours for Robert will be held on February 22, 2023 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse, with a service to follow.
