Robert H. Hickox

Robert H. "Bob" Hickox, 85, of Syracuse, passed away on Monday at the VA Medical Center with his wife by his side. He was born in Syracuse and retired from the US Army as Corporal. He was a POW for 33 months during the Korean Conflict. Bob was a member of the D.A.V. He was also a member of the Korean War Veterans Assoc. and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Bob retired from Prudential Insurance as a salesman and was an avid reader.
He was predeceased by a son, Robert T., a daughter Barbara McDonald and his beloved Beagle, Pupper Dawg.
Surviving are his beloved wife Mary of 30 years, his 2 daughters; Meghan Anne Hickox-Grant (Nathan), Sandra Jean Samford (Robert), 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brother, Chuck Hickox and his sister, Beverly Ianuzi, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with sharing of memories to follow.
