Robert J. Gettys, 83, passed away on December 26th, 2020 in Clay N.Y
Visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on January 8th, 2021 at 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals at 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212 on January 8th, 2021 at 3:00pm.


Robert Gettys was born in Rock Hill, S.C. to his parent's Floyd Gettys Sr. (Father) and Pearl Nash (Mother) on February 17th 1937. He worked as a truck driver for Elmax Builders Supply Company in Bronx, NY for 20 years. Robert enjoyed fishing and spending time with all his children and family.


Robert is preceded in death by his son, Jason Daniels who has previously passed away in 2008.


Robert is survived by his wife, Tanya Gettys of Clay N.Y, two brothers Floyd Gettys Jr., and Thomas Gettys of S.C. His son's Robert Gettys Jr. ( Margie Gettys) of South Carolina, Justin Daniels, Jarien Daniels, Corey Moore (Allissa Moore), Malik Gettys, Shawn Gettys, Dylan Gettys and Zhymeir Gettys of Syracuse N.Y. His Daughter's Alberta Cook of S.C., Tashema Copeland, Diamond Gettys and Marilyn Gettys of Syracuse N.Y and a host of grandchildren Takela Burns, Dwayne Gettys, D'Chansula Bratton, Lil' Robert Gettys III, Alexandria Gettys, La'naya Moore, Jayden Daniels, Jewelyana Daniels, Jaylen Daniels, Emani Copeland, Calvin Moore, Julian Daniels, Jeavanna Daniels, Ca'Sheem Gunn,Sylvia Pridgen, James Pridgen and Joseph Copeland and kids. Robert is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren and countless of nieces and nephews.
