Robert G. Jennings, 86, formerly of Bridgeport, passed away on Monday. He was born December 21, 1924 in Syracuse a son of George and Lois Baker Jennings. He served in the US Navy from 1943-46. He was a recipient of the Pacific Theatre Medal. He was married to Shirley Black whom precedes him in death. He then married Leona Hayes on October 6, 2000.
He last worked at Upstate Hospital as a Biomed Technician. He was a member of the Bridgeport Vol. Fire Dept.
Surviving are his wife, Leona, two sons, Paul (Cheryl) Jennings, Liverpool, Gordon Jennings, Syracuse, two daughters, Jill (Steve) Childers, Daytona Beach, FL, Sally (Bill) Pauli, Chittenango, two grandchildren, Samantha and Marisa Pauli, two sisters, Barbara Fina and Jane Cook.
Services will be held on Friday at 11:30am at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Bridgeport Vol. Fire Dept.
