Robert F. Barrett

Robert F. Barrett, 81, of Central Square, passed away Saturday at home, after a long illness. Robert was a WWII veteran serving in the Navy and a Korean War Veteran serving in the Marine Corps. After 25 years with the Syracuse City Police Dept., he retired as a Captain. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the PBA. He is predeceased by his wife, Dolores (2003), 2 sons, Thomas and Brian and a sister, Rita Wiesnet.
Robert is survived by 2 sons, Robert (Joyce) Barrett and Christopher (Nancy) Barrett; 3 daughters, Anita (James) Harmon, Linda (Lester) Wolfe and Maureen (Russell) Scott; 2 sisters, Ruth Lord Krause and Barbara Bierman Sharkey; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday, 10AM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Calling Hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, North Syracuse.
