Robert E. "Bob" Osborne, 95, of Sylvan Beach, passed away on Sunday surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 6, 1920 in Syracuse and served in the US Army as a Medic in 186 Medical Battalion. He was employed at New York Telephone for over 40 years. Bob was a member of the Masons Crossroads Lodge #520, the VFW, the American Legion and member of the Robinson Memorial Church and trustee of the Sylvan Beach Chapel.
He was predeceased by his parents Rufus and Marie, his brother LeRoy, 2 sisters Alice and Jackie, his son, Joseph Santy.
Surviving are his beloved wife Violet Osborne, daughter Suzanne, sons Michael (Mary) Santy, Patrick (Penny) Santy, 5 grandchildren, Ronald (Ann Marie) Hess, Amy (Thomas) Gladwell, Chrissie (Ernie) Berardi, Mary Kay Santy, Anna (Cameron) Edele and 8 great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with services to follow.
A memorial service at Sylvan Beach Chapel will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sylvan Beach Vol. Fire Dept., 908 Main St., Sylvan Beach, NY 13157.
