Robert E. Belke Sr.

Robert E. Belke Sr, 84, passed away on Friday. He was born in Oakland, CA. and was a longtime resident of Liverpool, NY. He graduated from John Adams High School in Ozone Park, NY and received a BA in Mathematics from Syracuse University. Bob served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He retired from General Electric with over 40 years of service as an engineer. He was an avid woodworker and the author of several books on furniture design. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, travelling, building furniture and toys and co-leading the weekly business meeting.
He particularly loved telling stories and making people laugh.
He is survived by wife, Carol Belke; a daughter, Marion C. Belke; five sons, Robert E. (Rosemary) Belke , Jr., Thomas J. (Lorrie) Belke, Stephen W. Belke, James C. (Patricia) Belke, Kenneth P. (Rachel) Belke; 11 Grandchildren; four Great Grandchildren; a brother, William L. Belke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday from 1-3PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Services will follow at 3PM.
