Robert E. Harp, 79, of North Syracuse and Sarasota, Fl died Thursday, December 29 in Sarasota. Bob retired from Onondaga County in 1990 following 30 years of service as a Deputy Sheriff. Following retirement he worked for the Cicero and North Syracuse Police Departments. "Sarge" was a retired US Army veteran serving with the 1209th. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, the former Virginia Annacchino; sons, Robert C. of N. Syracuse and Brian D. Harp of Mattydale; daughters, Elaine (John) Crary of Mattydale and Valarie Carbona of Liverpool; brother, James (Carol) Harp of Liverpool; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 AM on Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4-7 PM on Monday at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
