Robert "Bob" Campbell, 74, of Bernhards Bay, passed away peacefully on Oct. 5, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones.
Bob was born in Scotland on November 4, 1947, to James and Anne Campbell and married Patricia Shaw on January 6, 1967. He became a U.S. citizen in 1988. Bob was a proud Teamster, serving as a Union Steward for Local #317 during his 30-year tenure at UPS before retiring in 2002.
Most of all, Bob was a family man. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family. Bob never wanted to miss seeing his grandchildren doing the things they loved, whether it was on the stage or on the athletic field. When he wasn't with his family, you could find Bob on video calls with his family in Scotland, bragging about his grandchildren at the local Dunkin' Donuts, or enjoying his favorite television show "Big Brother". Bob also loved the outdoors—some of his fondest memories were with his family camping at Nick's Lake in Old Forge. He also enjoyed hiking, kayaking, and traveling. He will always be remembered for his infectious smile, zany personality, and limitless compassion. Bob was known to all as always being there to lend a helping hand, and over the years, he touched so many lives in so many ways.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of more than 30 years, Patricia Campbell; his parents James and Anne Campbell, and his sister Anne Dolson.
Bob is survived by his sons, James "Jim" (Doreen) Campbell and Michael "Mike" Campbell; daughter Jennifer (Dave) Neuner; nine grandchildren, Anthony, Megan, Nathan, Robert, Madison, Jessica, Emily, Mitch, and Allison); siblings, Winnie (John) Fram, Margaret (Corky) Tryon, John (Shari) Campbell, Kate (Ron) Smith, and Heather (Randy) Best.
Family and friends may call on Monday, Oct. 10, 2022 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 North Main, North Syracuse. A private burial will be held afterwards. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to www.nationalmssociety.org in honor of Pat & Bob Campbell.
