Robert Call, Sr., 78, passed away on Wednesday at his home. He was born in Winton, PA, son of the late John and Hannah (Vandervort) Call. Robert arrived in Syracuse in 1955 to work at Carrier Corp. Robert owned a gas station on North Geddes St. and retired as an ironworker with Local 60.
He was predeceased by brothers, Jack & David, his sisters; Katherine Vadella & Lucille Homsky.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years Josephine, his children; Deborah (Bruce) Berg, Clay, Sheryl (Scott) Lyons, S. Carolina, Robert (Kathee), Syracuse, Christopher, Syracuse, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, 3 brothers; twins Ronald & Roy, Barry Call, 2 sisters; Mary Lou Chrzan & Jane Paduck, along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday April 11th from 1-3pm at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse, with services to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of CNY.
