Robert Billings, 74, of East Syracuse, passed away on January 9th at Upstate University Hospital. Robert was a life-long resident of the Syracuse area. He grew up on Kibby Road in the Town of Lysander with 6 brothers: Tom, Harold, Fred, Jim, Donny and Ronald; and 2 sisters Dorothy and Viola. Robert was a devoted father to LeeAnn and Randy; proud grandfather to Samantha, Tyler, Jaime, Dylan, Aidan, Marie and Kaylee. Other family members include: sister-in-laws Jeanette, Peggy and Ginny; former wife Kathy, son-in-law Thomas, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.Robert graduated from Baldwinsville High School and was an Army Veteran. He was a dedicated, hard worker all his life, retiring from Grainger Inc. several years ago although his passion for work was unending, always finding something to build, fix, work on, or solve. He enjoyed staying busy playing with his grandchildren, gardening, working on his truck, putting together jigsaw puzzles, watching the Yankees play baseball and spending time with family and friends He touched the lives of many who will always remember him as "a great man". Robert's kind spirit, love and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Calling hours will be Monday from 1-3PM at New Comer Funeral Home. Services will follow at 3PM.
