Robert R. Beehner, 96, of DeWitt, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 1st, 2023. He was born in Syracuse on January 8th, 1927 and graduated from Eastwood High School in 1945.
He went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. After his return from the service, Bob joined his father, Raymond, in the family business, "Beehner and Sons", specializing in cabinet making, wood working and church furniture. His craftsmanship can be found in churches throughout the Syracuse area, including Holy Cross, Hendricks Chapel and Blessed Sacrament. Most notably, he constructed the pews for his own parish, St. David's Episcopal Church. After retiring from the family business in 1993, he went on to work as the caretaker at St. David's Church.
He continued there until the age of 87. Bob enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid Buffalo Bills, NY Giants and Syracuse fan.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Elizabeth, to whom he was married for 72 years.
He will be greatly missed by his Four Sons, James (Anne) Beehner, Christopher (Beth) Beehner, David (Wendy) Beehner and Jay (Toni) Beehner and his Daughter, Nancy (Doug) Wilson, his Grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Austin, Brittany and Matthew Beehner, David (Fiancé Echo Blum) Wilson, Christine (Francisco) Wilson, Sara (Kevin) Jock and Jillian (Bryan) Bleier, Four Great-Grandchildren, Makayla, Haylee, Leland Jock and Beau Robert Bleier.
