Rita Pentlen, 92, died Monday, April 8 at Chittenango Center, Chittenango N.Y.
Rita Victoria Trombley was born in Tupper Lake, NY on March 18, 1921. Rita married Jesse Pentlen on Feb. 9, 1943 in Pittsfield, MA and they made their home in Tupper for 41 years before moving to Chittenango in 1984 to live near their daughter.
"Mama Rita" enjoyed playing Bingo, Bunco, sewing Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls, traveling and spending time with her family. During the past year frequent visits from great-grandaughter Molly Driscoll always brightened her day.
Rita is survived by three children: Jessica (John) Guiney of Chittenango; Stephen (Barbara) Pentlen of Albany; and Carolyn Pittenger of Montreal, Canada.
Rita is survived by 6 brothers and sisters, Theresa Riley and Percy Trombley of Tupper Lake, Robert Trombley of Utica, Bernadette Labarge of Texas, Florence Bressette, twin sister Nita St. Onge of Cazenovia, and sister-in-law Blanche Andreotta of Camillus. She is also survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be private.
