Rita T. Gay, 94, formerly of Solvay, passed away on Saturday at Crouse Hospital. She was born on September 15, 1919, daughter of Andrew and Alice Kopp. Rita served her country during WW II in the Army Signal Corps. and retired from the Onondaga County Sheriff's Dept. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Gay in 1982.
Surviving are a son, Frederick Gay, New York City, 4 daughters: Theresa Lebel, Maine, Mary (Arthur) Zion, Kirkville, Katherine (George) Lorber, Solvay, Loretta (Louis) Arlotta, Syracuse, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday 10am at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse.
Contributions may be made to the Sunnyside Nursing Home, Activities Fund.
