Richard L. West, 92, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 21, 2022.
Richard was born in Utica, New York on January 18, 1930 to the late John and Evangline West.
He was a devoted husband for 72 years to his Wife, Helen, a loving Father and Grandfather. He was a successful business owner of On Top Roofing Company, a craftsman and a carpenter for the entirety of his adult life. In his retirement he loved playing golf, reading, boating, basket making and he loved watching the NY Yankee's with his Daughter, Lori.
Richard built two homes and restored several vintage wooden boats. He was life member of the Knights of Columbus. He had a warmth and sense of humor that invited people in and made them feel welcomed and wanted. He was an unfailingly kind and decent man. He will be missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his loving Wife of 72 years, Helen West; Daughter, Sharon Gonzalez; Son, Richard A. (Joanne) West; Daughter, Wendy (Vernon) Conway; 5 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his Daughter, Lori A. West.
There will be no calling hours and services will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
