Richard C. Thurston, 75 of Canastota, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 7th, 2023. Born on February 25th, 1947 in Syracuse, NY to the late Carlyle and Amelia Thurston.
He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force. He loved fishing, collecting baseball cards, bowling and was a manager at A&A Treasures in Sylvan Beach while talking politics.
He is survived by his children, Richard (Cindy) Calabria, Christina Amoro, Steven Thurston and Amanda Thurston; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; Robert (Sharrol) Thurston, Linda Locke; aunt, Bernice Pisegna and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 4-7pm. Funeral services will follow at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled Veteran's.
