Richard F Sutherland

Richard F. Sutherland, 81, of Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday at his home surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born in Winchester, MA on March 28, 1940 son of Frederick and Blanche Sutherland. Richard served in the US Army and retired from UPS in Syracuse. Known by his family as "Pa", he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was very generous and was always giving to anyone in need. Even in his passing, he continues to give by donating himself to science in hopes to help educate future medical personnel.

He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Sutherland, daughters, Valerie (Shelley) Sutherland, April Sutherland, Laura Sutherland (Dale), Michelle (James) Elder, Kimberly (Jose) Cintron, sons, Keith Sutherland, Donald Sutherland, 11 grandchildren, Zachary (Courtney), Jacob, Hunter, Landon, Cameron, Logan, Emily, Hannah, Jacklynn, Taylor, Aubrey, sisters, Leona Shampine-Barnett, Rosanna Sutherland, brother, Paul Sutherland, along with nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at a later date.

Donations in Richard's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
