Richard "Rick" J. Slowik of Liverpool, left this world on Friday November 11th in the company of his favorite girls, surrounding him with comfort and love, providing him with a peaceful passing. Born November 3, 1956 in Syracuse NY, to Julian and Emily "Emma" Slowik, he was the youngest of the pack. Rick spent his childhood years growing up in Eastwood, where he met some of his lifelong friends. Pat, Jay, Koz, Dennis, Tony, Louie, Nick, and Charlie were his source of support during hard times and willing cohorts for all adventures. They fondly called him "Vinnie" but swear they can't remember why.
Rick attended Syracuse University, where he received his Master's in Business. He worked at Chrysler (New Process Gear Division) as third-shift plant manager for many years. When he left Chrysler, he opened his own consulting firm. Always keeping busy, he also managed a local H&R Block office for a few years. That was where he met ElizaBeth "Beth" Molloy of Liverpool, with whom he shared 15 years, through calm waters and choppy waves (though they weren't married, he always called her his wife) Rick was the ultimate avid sports fan who also learned Karate, loved music, and even learned to play guitar later in life, proving that you can teach an old dog new tricks. When weather would permit it, he could be found cruising on his Fat-Boy Harley, taking a drive in his baby-blue Stingray, or floating on his boat "Total Indulgence," soaking up the rays while the wind blew through his "hair". Rick was very detail-oriented when it came to cleaning his prized possessions or working; he would often tell his daughter that "a job worth doing is a job worth doing right". He made lifelong friends everywhere he went and is missed so much already. Apologies to SU and Green Bay Packers for the recent drop in merch sales and viewer numbers. Rick leaves behind a legacy of true friendship, loyalty, rings made from his ice-cold water.
His family includes his beloved Beth; his daughter Chelsea Ryan Slowik (Ed Wilson) of Cicero, whom he admired; granddaughters Nevaeh R Salazar, Shyanna M. Wilson, Lily Anne J Wilson, whom he adored; his "bonus kids and grandkids" who fondly called him Abu; his sister Susan Conklin (Len Dawson); and his brother Gene J Slowik (Kathleen Patane).
Along with his parents, Rick was predeceased by his sister Stephanie who passed away in Poland at the age
of 2.
Visitation will be held for friends and family on Friday, November 18th 4-6 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals with a remembrance service to follow at 6pm.
