Richard R. Sims

Richard R. Sims, 85, of Parish, passed away, March 24, 2024.

Richard was born in Syracuse, New York on November 19, 1938 to Lawrence and Genevieve Sims.

Richard retired as a contractor. He was an avid outdoorsman. In his free time, He enjoyed friends and family that he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Sims; father, Lawrence Sims; mother, Genevieve Parkis; two brothers, Jack and Lawrence Sims; sister, Maryann Brinkman

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela, (William J.) Quilty; five sons, Keith Sims, Richard (Deborah) Sims, Kenneth (Kim) Sims, Neil Sims, Ned Sims; brother, Charles Sims; three sisters, Betty Fisher, Joyce Sims, and Peggy Merriam; and many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great-Great Grandchildren.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 4 PM to 7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, March 29, 2024; interment will be held at Pine Plains Cemetery, Henry Clay Blvd., Clay.
