Richard Thomas Schug

Richard Thomas Schug, 72, of Liverpool, passed away November 9, 2024. Richard was born in Syracuse, New York on November 22, 1951 to Fremont H. and Virginia Schug. 

 Richard served in the U.S. Airforce then with the N.Y. Air National Guard 174th FW and retired in 2005 after 35 years of service. He was an air craft mechanic, crew chief, President of the Civil Service Union, and much more. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. Richard was humble about his service to the military, but also taught his children to take pride in the work that they do. He was a proud family man who always put his family first. He was always there for anyone in a time of need and would give the shirt off his back.

 He was preceded in death by Father, Fremont H. Schug; Mother, H. Virginia Schug.

 He is survived by his Wife of 52 years, Janet F Schug; Daughters, Kimberly Schug, Sara Schug; Son, Matthew Schug; Sister, Pam Cassidy; Grandchildren, Jordan (Josh) Andrews, Jacob Schug, Alex (Michelle) DiDomenico, Tim Baunee, Steven (Gaby) Baunee, Quincy Williams, Christopher Schug; 5 Great Grandchildren; and several Nieces and Nephews. 

 Family and friends may call on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - North Syracuse, 705 N. Main St, Syracuse, where funeral services will be held Friday at 6:00 pm. 

 Interment at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse, NY at a later date. 

 Memorial contributions may be made to Family Worship Center or charity of your choice.
