Richard J. Sacco, 73, of Syracuse, passed away with family by his side on January 19, 2019.
Richard was born in Syracuse, NY on February 5, 1945 to the late Angelo and Natalie Sacco.
Richard retired from Pioneer Packaging Co. of Chicopee, MA in 2013. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, uncle and in-law. He was known for his great sense of humor. He loved to play cards and games with his family and friends. He was an avid fan of SU basketball and football.
He was preceded in death by his Son, Angelo A. Sacco, II and Brother, James Sacco.
He is survived by his Wife of 44 years, Ida M. Sacco; Daughters, Julia (Stevan) Sacco, Sandra (Bill) Harbort; Brother, Stephen (Deborah) Sacco; Mother in Law, Florence Bartorillo; Daughter In Law, Sally Sacco; Brother in law, Angelo "Mick" (Jill) Bartorillo; Aunt, Frances Marinelli; 6 Grandchildren, Brandon (Rosa) Silvernail, Christina (Mike) LeBlanc, Angelo A. (Taylor) Sacco III, Jamison Sacco, Tyler Harbort and Nicholas Harbort; 8 Great Grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, 4-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. A service will follow at 7 PM. Burial to take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice.
