Richard R. Rose

Richard R. Rose, 75, of Cicero, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a sweet and very good man. 

He was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran of 32 years in active and reserve roles. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who belonged to and supported Ruffed Grouse Society. He started bee keeping and loved to give honey to his friends and relatives. He was also an avid fan of Syracuse sports, the NY Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. His greatest joy was spending time with his loving wife, Sharon and his family and friends. 

He was predeceased by his wife, Sharon; younger brother, Robert Jr.; and his parents, Robert and Anita. 

He is survived by his brother, Gerald (Connie) Rose; niece, Tricia (Tim) Rose-Stone; great niece, Ava; nephew, Jeremy (Kelly) Rose; great nephews, Wesley and Bennett; daughter-in-law, Kristin (John) Pikarsky; grandchildren, Madison and Britton; brother-in-law, Martin (Jennifer) Uczen; grandchildren, Audrey and Macy; as well as many Aunts and Cousins. 

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. A service and military honors will follow at 6:00 pm. Internment will take place privately at Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Parkinson’s Disease Association.
