Richard R. Rose, 62, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at University Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Born in Syracuse, Richard was a Vietnam Veteran serving from 1966 to 1972 and was a member of the American Legion Post 787, Vietnam Veterans Chapter 103. He was an avid Harley rider and cancer advocate.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joyce and Corbet and his granddaughter, Kylie.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Rose; daughter, Amanda (Joey) Flores; son, Scott (Jennifer Winnicki) Chimber; grandchildren, Jocelyn, Christopher, Jacob, Julia and Jaime.
Services will be Tuesday 7 p.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St, N. Syracuse. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
