Richard C. Purdy
September 15, 1935 — February 26, 2022
Richard C. Purdy, 86 of Mattydale, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 26th, 2022. Born in Marcellus, NY on September 15th 1935 to the late Thomas and Gertrude Purdy. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
He worked in the construction field for many years. He was a maintenance worker at Nob Hill Apartments until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Lisa Purdy and Debra (Marco) Pocyntyluk; grandchildren, Danielle Purdy, Emily DiPaola and Dillan Purdy; brothers, Harry (Eileen) Purdy, Frank (Dot) Purdy and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his wife, Immaculate; son, David; siblings, John, Alice and Anne.
Calling hours will take place at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse on Sunday, March 6th , 2022 from 4-7pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church on Monday, March 7th, 10am. Burial will follow at North Syracuse Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson's Foundation.
