Richard M. Proughty

Richard M. Proughty, 62, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday at home, in the care of Linda Darling and surrounded by loving family members at his side, after a courageous extended battle with Cancer. He graduated from Liverpool High School in 1963 and received his Bachelor of Science at State University College at Oswego, N.Y. in 1967. He was an Army Veteran from 1967 to 1969 serving in the Vietnam War. Richard received the experience of knowledge taught by Prem Rawat in 1973, and practiced this way to inner peace for 34 years. He worked in the insurance field for several years followed by a full career in Health Services for the State of New York. He recently worked for All Metro Health Care. He is predeceased by his mother, Clarissa Proughty.
He is survived by a brother, Donald (Lisa) Mackey; several uncles, aunts, cousins and many special friends.
Memorial Services will be Friday, 6:00PM at New Comer Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Friends are invited to visit with his family from 4:00-6:00PM at the funeral home, before services.
