Richard R. Landers

July 9, 1919 — December 5, 2017

Richard R. Landers, 98, formerly of Syracuse, NY and most recently of Royal Palm Beach, FL passed away on Tuesday, December 5th.

Richard served in the Pacific Theater during WWII in the US Army Signal Corps as a Commander of a radar maintenance unit, being discharged with a rank of Captain.

He was an author of several books and technical papers and a consultant to governments, industries, universities and business. Richard was also a lecturer, inventor of autonomous machines and a professional engineer. He was an aerospace engineer with product design and product assurance experience in under sea weapons, intercontinental ballistic missiles, space transportation vehicles; as well as, communication, weather, navigation and scientific research satellites for the U.S. and foreign agencies.

Richard was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Landers and brothers, Joe, Irving and Sam Friedlander.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Moses; son, Gary (Carl) Landers; granddaughters, Jennifer Koelewyn and Julie Seguin; great-grandchildren, Kathryn and Hailey; sister, Dorothy Lewis and several nieces and nephews.

Burial was private.
