Richard W. Kopp, 93 of North Syracuse, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Richard (Dick) was born in Syracuse, NY on October 26, 1931 to the late William and Catherine Kopp. 

Dick grew up in Mattydale, NY and North Syracuse, NY. He graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1949. After graduating, he became a U.A.W. member working at New Process Gear as a machinist, retiring in 1988 after 37 years of employment.

Dick was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, serving for two years. He married Beverly Jean Dimon in 1954 and raised three children. Dick enjoyed traveling and camping with his family. He was a hunter, an avid bicycle rider, bowler and golfer. He enjoyed attending weekly meetings of the North Syracuse Seniors where he would play cards and visit with friends. Dick was a long time communicant of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and more recently attended St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.

He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly in 2020, his brother, David Anthony Kopp, and his great grandson, William Clayton Kopp.

He is survived by sons, Thomas (Judy) Kopp, Keith (Barbara) Kopp, daughter, Diane (George) Benner, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also, his sister, Eileen Rolfe and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A private burial will take place in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY.
