Richard J. "Dick" Kimler, 80 of Bridgeport, passed away Saturday. He was a graduate of Manlius Military School. He was a member of the 138th National Guard and 174th National Guard at Hancock Field and was a Korean War Veteran (Air Force). Richard worked for Schlinder Elevator Company Local 62 for 38 years. He loved stock car racing, traveling in his motor home and his dog, Christie.

Dick is survived by his wife, Thelma (Seeley) Kimler; his 5 children, Kim, Randy (Patria), Michele (Tim), Theresa (Jim) and Leslie (Dan); 14 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; brother, Preston "Lee" Kimler; sister, Mary Jane Hessenius; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday 10 a.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St,. N. Syracuse. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, Contributions can be made to the Special Olympics.
