Richard F. Schmidt, 79, went home to the Lord on Tuesday at Upstate Hospital after a long illness. He was a Veteran of the Army 1954-56 and served in Germany. He was employed at B.G. Sulzle's for 45 years.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary Liepka Schmidt, a son, Thomas, Webster, NY, sister, Janet C. Smolen, Syracuse, brother, Walter (Ronnie), Camillus, an aunt Beverly Wilcox, an uncle Vernon (Beverly) Stephens, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and his many dear friends at Fair Haven, where he spent his summers for over 30 years.
There will be a memorial service in early May. There are no calling hours.
Contributions may be to a children's foundation of your choice.
