Richard E. Kennedy, 80, of Mattydale, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday. He retired from General Motors, UAW 854. He was a life member of the Syracuse Gem and Mineral Society. He served in the Navy. He loved fishing, rock hounding and traveling.
He is predeceased by his son, Edward Everhart; a grandson, Richard "Ricky" E. Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lillian D. (Fredette) Kennedy; six children, Jesse (Annette) Kennedy, Patricia (James) Masters, Peggy (Leonard) LeSuer, Bruce (Sharon) Kennedy, Harold Kennedy and Eleanor (John) Childs; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren "and two on the way"; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 1-4PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Services will follow at 4PM.
