Richard J. "Dick" Dumas, 84, of Brewerton, passed away on Sunday at Crouse Hospital after a brief illness.

Richard was born on September 5, 1934 the son of the late Lawrence and Aurel Dumas.

He served in the US Navy and worked as general manager at William Grocery in North Syracuse for over 40 years. Dick also managed Peter's Liqours until he retired at the age of 82. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, was an avid Yankee Fan and SU Basketball Fan.

He was predeceased by his son, James Dumas and his brother, Raymond Dumas.

Richard is survived by his wife Barbara, of 59 years; son, John (Kathaleen) Dumas, daughters, Christine (Craig) Foland, Cheryl (Steven) O'Connell, 10 grandchildren; Haley, Cassondra, Erin, Olivia, Samuel, Daniel, Nicholas, Benjamin, Emily, Katherine, 2 great grandchildren, Levi, & Owen, brother, William Dumas, along with many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St, N. Syracuse, with a service at 6pm.
