Dick and Cathie raised their family in the Eastwood neighborhood of Syracuse, before Dick built their new home in 1987 in LaFayette, NY where they lived until 2020. Summers were spent at their beautiful family camp which Dick cherished called, "the farm" on Payne Lake near Oxbow, NY. Dick and Cathie lived their final years in Lyncourt with their daughter, Ginny.
Dick was a self-employed mason contractor and retired when he was in his 70s. He enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing (including making his own lures), trapping, bowling, attending SU sporting events, working in and around his home, "the farm," and his children's homes. Dick was an active member of St Joseph's Church in LaFayette where he was an usher, involved with maintenance projects, as well as a dedicated member of the apple fryer and pie making team for the annual LaFayette Apple Festival Fundraiser.
Dick (Puppa to his grandchildren) was deeply loved by many. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for his family and friends, and his sense of humor. Although he missed his wife dearly, he never lost his joy and strength for living and found great comfort in his family and caregivers who showered him with love and kindness.
