Richard S. Coombs was born in Syracuse, NY on June 2, 1940, to the late Charles and Irma Coombs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his younger brother Charles, and his son David.
He is survived by his older brother, Robert (Jeanne) Coombs; his sisters, Bernice (Roger) Kincaid and Joyce (John) Staples; his daughter, Lynne (David) Brown; his son Brian (Dorian) Coombs and his five grandchildren, Anna, Elise, Crispin, David, and Tabitha; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Richard enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, a waterscape with a lighthouse, and family gatherings. He was a communicant member of Messiah’s Church, Clay NY, and believed in Jesus Christ as His only Savior from sin and death. He not only loved his own family and church family, but all people; he was a kind, friendly, neighborly man.
Visitation will take place on Friday, September 6th from 8:30-9:30 am at Messiah's Church, 8181 Stearns Rd, Clay, NY 13041 with a service to follow at 9:30 am.
Burial will take place in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Fayetteville.
These sentiments sustained him while enduring the afflictions of dementia and then further illness:
