Richard E. Cole

Richard E. Cole, 84, of Montour Falls, passed away at home on Friday, January 7th. He was the son of the late Earl and Rhea Cole. He graduated from Ithaca College in 1959 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1960 until 1963. Richard married Mary Schettler in 1962 and together they had four children. Richard served as director of the Schuyler County Office for Aging from its inception in 1976 until 1992. He was an accomplished pianist who loved the Lord, his family and music.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary; children, Donna (Philip) Losito, Cynthia (Donald) Dykes, Gary (Letty) Cole and Andrew Cole; grandchildren, Chelsea Dykes, Ryan (Cari) Dykes, Christine Losito, Laura (Joe) Woznica, Garrison Cole and Jackson Cole.

Friends are welcomed to pay their respects and share memories of Richard on March 5th at Montour Falls United Methodist Church from 1-4pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY.
