Richard A. Carlson, 73, of Baldwinsville, passed away on Wednesday February 1st after a short illness. Richard was born in McKeesport, PA on October 18, 1949 son of the late William and Birgit Carlson. Richard was a chef in New Jersey and Syracuse for many years. A highlight of Rich's life was conducting the chorus at the Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Center in Syracuse. Besides the musical aspect, he encouraged the men, realizing the need for second chances. He enjoyed his Tuesday morning coffee club. Richard was predeceased by his brother, Arthur Carlson and sister, Elsie Lants.
He is survived by his fiancee, Connie Green, 2 sons, Jacob (Rachel) Green, Joshua (Chelsea) Green, sister, Sandra (Dick) Baker, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday February 9th from 5-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St. N. Syracuse, with services at 7pm.
