Richard C. Duffy, 77, of Baldwinsville, New York died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at home.
Born in Syracuse, New York he was the son of the late Andrew and Edna MacFarlane. Dick retired from Onondaga County Department of Social Services as Chief Welfare Fraud Investigator. He previously worked for the Town of Clay as their first full time Police Officer and Wegmans in the loss prevention department.
He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Dorothy V. Fields Duffy who died in 2001.
Surviving are sons, Richard (Diane) of Clay, New York and Brian Duffy of Eastwood, New York; daughters, Susan Duffy of Alma, Michigan and Laura Duffy of Liverpool, New York; long time companion, Patricia Simanowski; ten grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at New Comer Funeral Home, North Syracuse, New York. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Marcellus, New York. Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 705 North Main Street.
