Richard C. Brady

SSgt (Ret.) Richard C. "Dick" Brady, 68, died March 30, 2015 after a lengthy stay at Veteran's Administration Hospital in Syracuse, NY. SSgt Brady was a member of the 174th fighter wing for over 20 years. He was an Administration Specialist. He was predeceased by his parents, SMS (Ret.) Whitman C. Brady and Dorothy M. Parkerson Brady, sister, Lorraine Margaret Brady, and brother, SMS (Ret.) Martin J. Brady.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Brady; sister, MSGT (Ret.) Maureen McNamara (John); Brother, Brian M. Brady (Karen); sister-in-law, Teresa Brady; brother-in-laws, Anthony Arnold and Steven (Rhonda) Arnold; stepchildren, Richard Raus (Janice), Thomas Raus (Missy), Kim Talucci (Tony), Cindy Dunn (Dave), Jeffery Raus and Jennifer Gervasio; 17 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

He attended Liverpool High School and then attended Air Force Basic Training in San Antonio, TX before going to Tech School at Keesler, LA. Sgt. Brady was involved in many base activities such as Annual Desert Storm Golf Tournament, hanger dances, family day picnics held for all members of the unit, annual weapons clam bake. He was part time bartender at the All Services Club as well as member of the 174th Fighter Wing Alumni Association. He helped out any section on the base with their functions helping them set up equipment etc.. He was your "go to" person for many things. He loved to play cards, especially Yuker with his fellow Airmen on their lunch hours. He also participated in various golf tournaments, dart tournaments and table shuffle board held on base. He was very active in the Heritage Club Functions. He loved his redline red SSR convertible car, his property in Camden, NY, known as the 7 dwarfs camp. His dream was to build a structure on the property. He was a collector of pewter mythological figures and he loved his Dad's old flint lock rifle. He was very proud of his military career and all that went with it. He was always there to donate to any Veteran's fundraiser to include Military Courtesy room at Hancock Field, Wounded Warrior and many more. Dick you have touched all our lives and miss you always. Your blue eyes and your heart were your most redeeming claim on our spirits. Mom, Dad, Marty, Laurie and Grandma Parkerson will be there to bring you home and we lift you up to them with our love for you.

Calling hours will be Friday, April 10th 10AM-Noon at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse with a service to follow at Noon. Burial will follow in the Onondaga County Veteran's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Feed our Vets in care of Cicero American Legion Post 787 or Clear Path for Veterans.
