Richard P. Anderson, 74, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Wednesday surrounded by his family.
Richard served on the USS Boston and USS Nathan in the U.S. Navy for 6 years.
He worked for over 20 years at Allied Chemical in Solvay. He was an avid marathon runner, having run in the Boston and New York City Marathons. Richard also enjoyed word searches, golfing and watching golf, camping and sitting outside in the country. He especially enjoyed camping at the Bluffs at Selkirk Shores.
He was predeceased by a niece, Karen Schumacher-Cantu.
Richard is survived by the love of his life, Vincenta Chindamo and her 2 children, James and Lisa; former wife Kathie (Robinson) Anderson and there 7 children, Terrie (Brian) Fancher, Scott (Laurie), David (Michelle), Richard (Joanna), Hoang Min Nguyen, Mary Anderson-Petrie and Hung Nguyen; sister, Marion (Fred) Schumacher; 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Monday 10AM-12PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse with a service to follow at 12PM.
Burial will follow services in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt.
