Richard A. Tausend, 82, of Syracuse, went with the Angels to be with our Lord. He was an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. He also served as a senior ground radio operator with the 920th AC&W Squadron and the 108th Air National Guard. He was a volunteer fireman with the Hinsdale Vol. FD. He was a member of Wellspring Family Life Church.
He is predeceased by his parents Carl and Hilda Tausend.
Dick is survived by the love of his life, of 60 years, Nancy Rita (Nappa) Tausend; daughters, Tanya (Tim) Watchorn, Melody (Mike) Verrillo, Nancy DeCarlo, Trina Tausend and Zulma (Frankie) Fiumefreddo; a brother, Charles (Fran) Tausend; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 9-11AM at Wellspring Family Life Church, 137 US Rte. 11, Central Square, NY 13036. Services will follow after calling hours. Private burial will be at the Onon. Co. Veteran's Cemetery.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the family.
