Reed D. Derrenbacher
April 9, 1996 - March 24, 2014
Reed Donald Derrenbacher passed away on March 24, 2014, at the age of 17.
Reed is survived by his proud parents, Tracy and James "Jimmy D", sisters Emily and Eden and brother Ryley Derrenbacher, all of Cicero. Reed is also survived by beloved grandparents Dianne Derrenbacher, of Cicero, and Tom and Connie Hurlburt of Dansville, aunt and uncle Tamara "TT" and Scott Kenney of Dansville, uncle and aunt Tom and Leilah Hurlburt of Virginia and great-grandmothers Pat "Grandma Cat" Quattlebaum and Kate VanWagnen, of Dansville. He is survived by several cousins, extended family, friends, and special friend Kevin Denzak, whom he adored.
Reed was predeceased by his brother Brady Raymond Derrenbacher, grandfather Gerald Derrenbacher, great-grandparents Dois Quattlebaum, Donald VanWagnen, Mary and Walter Hurlburt, Ruth Rawleigh, Carolyn VanWagnen and aunt Tricia Hurlburt.
Reed was a true-blue Duke Basketball fan, Notre Dame Football fan, and faithful Buffalo Bills fan. He insisted he was named after his mom's favorite player, Andre Reed. He was a Tully's tender loyalist, a pretty good fisherman (thanks to Papa), the reigning pool basketball champion, a passionate member of the St. Rose Raider Nation and the proud Westhill Warrior quarterback.
Calling hours will be 5-8pm on Friday at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Mass will be 12 Noon on Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, 8229 Brewerton Rd., Cicero. Burial will be at North Syracuse Cemetery.
