On December 3rd 2023, we said goodbye to our beloved Rebecca Jonelle (Harvey) Meade. She was a cherished daughter, wife, sister, aunt, mother and friend.
Rebecca graduated from Nottingham High School in Syracuse, New York, class of 2004. Throughout her youth, she proved herself to be a highly talented musician, teaching herself to play several different instruments and was recruited to play Saxophone for the Syracuse Children's Orchestra. She was a successful athlete, excelling in a variety of sports and even raced to earn the prestigious honor of carrying the Olympic torch through her hometown. After high school, she attended Onondaga Community College, where she would go on to win the championship in tennis for her school.
Though Rebecca had achieved so many things in her short time on earth, she would undoubtedly say that her greatest achievements were her four beautiful children, Isabella 17, Emily 16, Olivia 10 and Austin 5. May her enduring love guide and inspire her four children who were the center of her world.
As well as being a devoted mother, she was also considered to be the world's best aunt by her nieces and nephews. They not only see her as an aunt, but a second mother who they knew they could always rely on for love and support.
Rebecca was born on April 13th, 1985 alongside the person with whom she would share an unbreakable and eternal bond, her identical twin sister, her best friend, Jennifer. Jennifer is suffering the loss of her beloved twin but holds onto the precious memories and the unwavering connection that will forever unite the hearts of two souls who were, and always will be, inseparable.
Those also left to cherish her memory are her husband, Kellan Meade; her children, Isabella, Emily, Olivia and Austin; sisters, Jennifer (Kyle) Lawson, Sarah (Andrew) Craft and Daley Harvey; brothers, Stephen (Katy) Craft, Matthew (Tanya) Harvey and Dylan Harvey; mother, Carol Ryan; father, Dennis (Donna) Harvey; her chosen father, Peter Guiles; in-laws, Jim and Marti Meade; grandmother, Susan Modie; nine Nieces and Nephews, as well as countless others.
Rebecca was a kind and generous soul with a hilariously silly sense of humor. Rebecca is gone far too soon, but the precious memories that we shared with her will remain in our hearts and minds forever.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 10th from 2-3 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse. A sharing of memories will follow at 3 PM.
Per the request of the family, please dress casual and wear your favorite clothing.
We love you Rebecca and find comfort knowing that you are resting in peace.
