July 11, 2004 Raymond W. Schmeiser Jr., 69, died Sunday at home. He was a graduate of Syracuse schools and attended OCC and Dale Carnegie for marketing and sales courses. He was a veteran of the Navy Reserve having served from 1952-1960 and was honorably discharged as Petty Officer, Second Class Store Keeper Supply. He was an avid baseball and softball player, participating for several years in the CNY League, the city and Clay leagues. He also bowled for years in the Liverpool Commercial League and was a past president. He was a lifetime member of the Pastimes Club. He also was a past member of V.I.P.S. (Volunteer in Police Service) affiliated with the Cicero Police Department and had attained the level of Captain. He retired in 1997 from Bowerman Associates Inc. Survivors include his children, Karen (Dominick) Visconti of Clay, Deborah Murphy of Cicero, Brian P. of Delaware, Todd, Carol, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 705 N. Main St. Those wishing to make contributions in Raymond's name may do so to the American Red Cross' Disaster Unit.
