Raymond F. Killian

Raymond F. Killian, 77, of Cicero, passed away after a short illness. Ray was born and raised on the West End of Syracuse (Park Ave. & Wall St.). Ray joined the Navy at 17 and served 4 yrs. during the Korean War. He moved to Baldwinsville in 1961 and raised his family. In 1984 he moved to Cicero. He retired in 1988 as Post Master of Baldwinsville, NY after a 33 year career. He was chosen to help design the ZIP+4 codes for 210 offices in the Syracuse Area, where he received Regional and National awards for his work. Ray graduated from Sacred Heart School and Blodgett Vocational High School. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. He is a member of the America Legion, Harvey James Squire Post 1832 Cicero and the National Assoc. of Federal Retired Employees. He loved and was proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sister, Sally McDuffy, brothers, Bill, Ted and Alfie.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Anne M. Felicia; daughter, Deborah (Michael) Thompson; sons, Raymond II (Leticia), John, Andrew (Raelynn) Killian, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday, 9:30AM in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Friends are invited to visit with his family on Thursday from 4-7 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse.
