Ralph P. Viviano

July 18, 1939 — July 2, 2021

Ralph P. Viviano passed away at the age of 81, on July 2, 2021, surrounded by family. Ralph was born in Syracuse, NY on July 18, 1939. He was a graduate of North Syracuse High School in 1956. He loved the New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Steelers and was also an avid fan of Frank Sinatra. Ralph spent the majority of his career in the warehousing, distribution and transportation industry, revered by so many along the way. His most recent roles leading up to his retirement included being the Director of Distribution for Fay's Drug Co., and also the Business Manager for Calmar Holdings. With Ralph, his career was not fulfilled without close relationships and community service. To that end, one of Ralph's most cherished partnerships was with the Transportation Club of CNY. During his time with the Transportation Club, the word venerated became synonymous with Ralph's name, serving as a Past President in 1992 & 1998, named Person of the Year in 1994, and being honored with the Dr. Theodore O. Wallin Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. With a passion for the transportation industry, as well as safety, Ralph served as a past Regional Vice President of the New York State Motor Truck Association, and past Chairman of the Onondaga County Traffic Safety Advisory Board in 1998 & 1999. As a man full of heart, he also served as a volunteer caretaker with Hospice. While he enjoyed a wonderful career and several long lasting and meaningful friendships, his most important accomplishment was his family. He had a deep love of family and was a proud husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. He was happiest when his entire family gathered for birthdays and holidays, but cherished every family dinner or weekend visit.

Ralph is predeceased by his father, Joseph Viviano, mother Rose Viviano (Camardella), brother Dominick Viviano, sister, Victoria Basile-Hannon (Viviano), brother in law, Cosimo Basile, Sr and sister in law, Josephine Viviano-Heilman (Stassi).

He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Viviano (Millward) of nearly 61 years, his sister Gloria Mitton (Viviano), brother in law Robert Mitton, brother in law Harry Heilman, son Joseph Viviano, daughter in law Diane Viviano (Hill), daughter Michelle Jennings (Viviano), son in law Steve Jennings, son AJ Viviano, daughter in law Rhonda Viviano (Tapp), son Jeff Viviano, daughter in law Stephanie Viviano (Czerniewski) along with 9 grandchildren, Sean Jennings, Joseph Viviano, Nicholas Viviano, Julianne Viviano, Tyler Jennings, Angelina Bretz (Viviano), Jeffrey Viviano, Jacob Viviano and Ethan Viviano along with several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
