Rafael Santiago Lopez, 38 of Liverpool, passed away Thursday. Born in Lares, Puerto Rico, Rafael enlisted in the Army in 1998, where he was a helicopter mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 2002. He is pre-deceased by his father, Benito Santiago.
He is survived by a son, Raphael B. Santiago; two daughters, Nicole M. Santiago and Amaya A. Lopez; mother, Elsa M. Lopez; siblings, Loida E. (Agapito) Guzman, Elizabeth (Alfredo) Matos, Maritza (Edison) Vega, Noemi (Michael) Corrado and Abigail (Ramon) Ruiz; and 10 nieces and nephews and one grand niece.
Services will be Sunday, 5PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-5PM at the funeral home, before services.
