Raelene "Rae" Metko, 88, of North Syracuse passed away peacefully on December 5, 2022.
Rae was born March 6, 1934 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, to Ray and Ethel Daggy. She graduated from Wichita State University with a Biology degree and then earned her Medical Technologist degree from Saint Francis Hospital in Wichita. She met her loving husband of 56 years, Clem, in Chicago. They moved to North Syracuse in 1965. In retirement, Rae enjoyed knitting mittens with the North Syracuse knitting group.
Rae was preceded in death by her husband, Clem.
She is survived by a son, Tim Metko; two daughters, Beth (Jim Minno) and Sandy (Paul Crowley) Metko; two grandchildren, Raelene (Jared) Bradley and David Metko and two great-grandchildren, Jay and Ira Bradley.
Rae's wish was for her loved ones and friends to say goodbye, each in their own personal way, without formality. Rae's body has been donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at SUNY Upstate Medical Center.
