Phillip K. Dunlavey, 77, of North Syracuse passed away Thursday. Born in Syracuse and a 4-year veteran of the US Navy, Phil retired from the Post Office after 37 years of service. A devoted husband and father, he loved spending time with his family and friends at Camp. Everyone who knew him loved him for his laughter and selflessness. Predeceased by his siblings; David Dunlavey, Lucy Brown, Jean Borne and Ruth Grabowski.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years; Sonja (Baranowski) Dunlavey, children; Timothy Dunlavey, James Dunlavey, Charlene (Mark) Szabo, Linda (Curt) Brandt, William Sparaco, sister; Anna Mae (Jerry) Paiz and seven grandchildren.
Services will be on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse. Spring burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4-7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse
Contributions may be made to the Rescue Mission.
