Philip J. Rosney

Philip Joseph Rosney, 88, of Troy, NY passed away Friday, October 3rd at home, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Philip and Elizabeth Rosney of Troy NY. Phil was employed for 36 years at the Watervliet Arsenal. He served in WWII from 4/43 – 2/46 as a Motor Machinist Mate on board the USS SC-1036, in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre.
He was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Church where he and his wife started and lead a prayer group for many years. Phil enjoyed playing his guitar and reading.
He and his wife Joanne were longtime residents of Latham, NY before moving to Auburn, NY in 2004.
Surviving are his wife, Joanne (Hansbury) Rosney; children/grandchildren, Colleen (Rick) and Brian, Michael (Trish), Dan, Shannon and Lisa, Jerry, Sherey, Joe and Jen; sister, Margaret Bateman (Jack).
Phil and Joanne have 11 great grandchildren.
