Peter "Pete" Stankevich, 94, of Brewerton, passed away on Thursday at Community General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late William and Anna Stankevich. He served in the US Army during WW II and retired from Rollway Bearing in Liverpool. Pete was a private pilot, he enjoyed flying his planes, camping, boating and was a former member of the Radio Club.
He was predeceased by his wife Helen in 1985, his 2 brothers, John & Mike, his 2 sisters; Helen & Mary.
Surviving are his daughter, Cindy (Terry) Scheirer, 2 granddaughters; Kimberly & Heather and one sister, Anna Stankevich, along with several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held later in the Spring at Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay at a time and date to be announced. There will be no calling hours.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Humane Society.
