Paul Clifton May
September 30, 1926 — January 5, 2022
Paul C. May, of Syracuse, peacefully passed away on January 5, 2022, at the age of 95.
Paul was a humble and upright man who diligently taught his daughters to always be prepared and to always be on time. Both Paul and his beloved wife, Ruth worked in the main office of Marine Midland Bank in Watertown for over 40 years.
Paul was well known for the jokes and stories that he told, almost all of them suitable for mixed company. He was always ready for a card game—especially hearts where he had an uncanny ability to "shake the tree" and to "shoot the moon".
Paul was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Ruth, and by his brother, Fred.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy (Lon) Keeley of Syracuse and Sally (Alvaro) Robles of Liverpool; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; his sister, Sharon (Norm) Peckham of Dexter and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Paul was a WW2 veteran and was so honored to be on Syracuse Honor Flight #10 on his 91st birthday. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation in Paul's memory to Honor Flight Syracuse, Inc., PO Box 591, Syracuse, NY 13209.
